Inarle inteye apwerte akweke-akweke nhenhe-le areyeye-le aneme, tyerrtye urrperle-le kere akeme antere aknherre mwerre alkwetye-ke inarlenge nhenhe imperne, lyeke artepe ntyele ceremony-ke artwe-le arnte.

 

Echidnas live in the caves in the small rocky hills. They eat termites. Echidna was a source of meat for Arrernte people. People describe the meat as fatty and tasting like pork. They are sacred and an important part of ceremony. The quills were only allowed to be used for ceremony.
